Sustainable & honest is a given
Hi! We are Johnny Jungle – the Eco Social Shop: a webshop with a mission! We would like to make eco and fair products more accessible and make you aware of the world, our nature, but especially the people behind the product in a friendly way. In our opinion, there is often so little attention paid to this.
The word "Sustainable" feels like a broad concept... perhaps bamboo tableware is better for the environment than plastic, but if it is made in a factory where people work 14 hours a day, for far too little money and without any healthcare security. ..What is your decision, what is more important? What exactly is sustainable?

All products personally selected & tested
All products have been personally selected & tested by us and we do not offer anything that we do not support. We look for quality products with an ecological background and more importantly: a good social and responsible story. That is why we ask every producer about their working methods & working conditions. Trust is the basis of everything and if we have doubts about a product, it is simply not offered.
Fan of Fair Trade
Johnny Jungle is a fan of Fairtrade and companies that initiate great social projects. At home or abroad, to support people who, for whatever reason, are less fortunate than the average Dutch person. And where possible we look for producers closer to home, for environmental reasons of course and support from local entrepreneurs. Partly due to Corona, the importance of this became increasingly clear.
Social work place
Where possible we work together with a sheltered workshop, for example for packing packages or embroidering a logo! And we are also fans of charities, which is why you can use our Gift Card in addition to shopping and also make various donations in our webshop. This money goes 100% to charity.
If we all buy something more consciously, we can have a major social impact.
Round prices
There are many sales tricks. For example, €14.95 seems cheaper than €15.00. The underlying goal is of course to sell more. We try to be aware of this and communicate honestly. That is why all our prices have recently been adjusted to round prices. So that at least you are not influenced (even if unconsciously).
Recycled? Which material, suitable for what?
We are happy to offer products made from recycled materials. But we also make conscious choices here. You have recycled cotton and RPET, among other things. RPET comes from plastic bottles and packaging that are thrown away by consumers. This material is strong and is often reused in textiles. Reuse is of course great, but not always the most environmentally friendly solution for every product. Because if you use this product, for example a towel, daily and wash it often, it will still end up in the water as microplastics during washing. That is why we choose to use this RPET in bags or jackets, but preferably not in towels or washable cotton pads.
Honest & transparent for a social impact
Honesty and transparency are Johnny Jungle's core values. That is why we try to share as honest and transparent a story as possible with all products and in our blogs, so that our conviction may also become yours.
